What, for a quarter? Surely not? I think I've had statements, but I haven't dared to look at them - perhaps I should!

Yes, that was for the quarter Nicki! It was £229 for the gas, last year for the same quarter it was £107 so it's over double this year. Last year the electric was £47 this time it's £87! It's just ridiculous! I had to dig into my savings yesterday to be able to pay it.

Dang! That doesn't sound good. I'll have to do some figuring to decide how that compares with mine. We pay ours monthly, so I'll have to....divide....multiply....add.... *sigh* better wait until I'm more awake.

To add to my money woes today my TV went kaputt! I've been wanting a LCD TV for ages but just why did the old one decide to break down right now. Isn't that called Sods law Anyway I went off down to Argos and got myself a very nice 32" wide LCD TV for £299.99 on my Argos card so I've got 6 months to pay it off ;D

My water heater will die soon... In N.America we have TANK water heaters. I want to buy a tankless system (Rinnai), but it will also need a water softner because we have LOTS of Calcium and Magnesium that plugs the pipes. Grand total: $3,700 CDN for the Rinnai + Softner Tank ... OMG !! Need to save, but finding winter boredom is costing, everytime I go out, I end up splurging on something. $30 extra each time, it seems. I smply cannot control it. Just going out is like a RUSH because I try to hold out as long as possible before going out.

I've got me eye on a really nice Samsung 42" plasma but it's £600 and I can't quite decide whether I want to blow most of the rest of my savings on it! I haven't looked at a utility bill recently - from this blooming bug I've had, I've managed to save up two months worth of paperwork, and I daren't look at it

I had a combination boiler at my old house which was wonderful - however this place has a tank system, and it's quite a small tank too. Took the kids quite a while to remember that the hot water actually RUNS OUT - in fact they still forget sometimes and we've been here a year in May No two of us can have a proper bath one after the other without turning the hot water on in the meantime - it really sucks! Plus, every time the thermostat switches on/off, down/up, the thing makes a huge banging noise like somebody has taken a hammer to it - you can imagine what fun that is at 6am when we're sleeping, and it comes on!

Pour yourself a stiff cider and go for it girl.
